The Catholic Surreal – Georges Bataille and Antonin Artaud: Heterodox Surrealism and The Theological Tradition

Here is a paper I wrote a while ago about the influence of the vague Catholicism of Bataille and Artaud upon them as thinkers and its reflection on theology. It was for my MA course.

It might be rough round the edges and is written, at least in the introduction, in a aggressive style I was experimenting with at the time. I gave half of this paper in a revised form at the Transcendence Incarnate conference last year in Oxford.
